PS3 slim Q&A with John Koller
24.08.09
PS3 Slim. It's legitimate, and it's in stores. Last time we talked to SCEA arms marketing boss John Koller, he was teasing us with pre-E3 2009 not great after touting the longevity of the PS2 on its 10-year anniversary and chatting us up on PS3's festival gameplan . Now that the next evolution of the PlayStation 3 is here, Features Leader-writer Patrick Shaw sat down with Koller to talk about the new system and the approaching of the PSP Go.
Patrick: So, you just wanna obstacle right into it?
John Koller: So, patently, the big announcement is the price plummet announcement, and that's effective pronto. The 80 GB [model] and the 160 GB [exemplar] SKUs that we have on market now are usual to be marked down as of right now. They're down to US$299 and $399 separately, and that's obviously something that's critical for us as we go encourage in the fall.
And then, we're launching the 120 GB PlayStation 3 system on September 21st at $299; you're looking at a uncommonly tremendous value for the character. Now, the 80 GB and 160 GB are prevailing to sell down and go away. The 120 GB will be our "de facto" unstationary forward. But when you look at the in actuality incredible line of tranquillity coming with the PS3, I think that... [when] you look at the software that's coming up -- Unknown 2, Ratchet and Clank, and LittleBigPlanet Be deceitful of the Year; obviously on third-function side, there's Madden, Assassin's Principles [2], and Modern Warfare -- this is a gargantuan lineup. Mirror that against the Blu-Ray measure ingredients from our studio partners, the built-in Wi-Fi... the blanket value of the PlayStation 3 for the consumer is successful.
